Green Feet Swim Levels

From Tadpole to Seal... Green Feet has you covered

Tadpole

Introduction to swimming for children under the age of 3.  We use singing and toys to make this level super fun for everyone involved. Water safety and respect for the water are introduced from the very beginning.

Goal:

  • Hold on to the wall for 10 seconds

  • Kids are having a good time, and they look forward to coming to lessons

Starfish

Swimmers will learn important life-saving skills such as wall crawling, floating, blowing bubbles, kicking and getting themselves safely in and out of the water. We also introduce noodle swimming to start encouraging independence and confidence.

Goal:

  • Wall crawl around the pool

  • Float on their back

  • Climb out of the pool without the aid of stairs or a ladder

Gators

Swimmers are learning to put their faces in the water with and without goggles.  Children will use platforms to learn how to move forward (using alligator arms) and backwards in the water.  We are continuing to work on developing water confidence.

Goal:

  • Glide to and from the platforms and stairs

  • Picking toys up from the platforms and stairs

  • Swimming on their backs across the width of the pool

Otters

Our lessons plans for this level involve swimming from the sides of the pool from a seated dive.  At this level we are learning to roll from belly to backs to breath, developing the skills to use their arms to pull forward, and use their legs to kick across the pool.

Goal:

  • Swim the length of the pool staying in a horizontal position

  • Pick up toys from the bottom of the pool then jumping to a floating position

  • Jump into the pool and get to the wall

Octopus

Learning the competitive strokes, freestyle and backstroke (lots and lots of arms).  We will also start working on endurance and lap swimming across the length of the pool.

Goal:

  • 10 laps utilizing both freestyle and backstroke

Seals

This is considered our BONUS level!  Here students will work on the remaining competitive strokes, breaststroke and butterfly.  Endurance is another main focus so students can be ready for the jump to swim team.  We also focus on flip turns, kneeling dives, and refining techniques and fundamentals.

Goal:

  • Proficiency in all strokes and ready to move on to swim team.

Turtles

Those over the age of 12 who are working towards being more confident and proficient in the water.  This level includes the most basic beginners to the advanced triathlete.

Goal:

  • We cater to your goals at this point, and offer guidance and instruction to help you accomplish those goals.
