Where is your main location?
Our headquarters is at the 4th St location. This is where there will be an office staff, merchandise to purchase, and more services offered.
What age should I start lessons?
We start teeny tadpoles at 4 months. However, we teach ALL ages. It is never too late. All our instructors are taught how to teach each level, age and skill set.
Is there a difference in instruction at each location?
Our instructors have the opportunity to choose which location they would like to work at based on their personal preference and desire. All of the instructors receive the same personal training from Nicole and are expected to meet all our standards.
Do you only offer private lessons?
Our private lessons are our premier product, our bread and butter. After seeing the success from private lessons during COVID, our business model changed and we were only offering private lessons til 2026. We are happy to announce that we are now able to offer group beginner lessons, group advanced lessons, adult lessons, birthday parties, open swim, and camps!!! Thanks to the purchase of the 4th street property, we can now offer more services.
Are 20 minute lessons to short?
We have found that 20 minutes is the sweet spot at learning in the pool. We have seen tremendous success in leaving kids wanting MORE and excited to come back next week. Our instructors have all been trained to teach through play and to keep students engaged and "working" hard for the entire 20 minutes. There is no time for messing with goggles, suits, hair, and bathroom breaks. Please help make this 20 minutes a priority by coming early and being ready to maximize your time in the pool.
Do you have a swim team? Do you teach the strokes?
All of the instructors receive the same personal training from Nicole and are expected to meet the standards.
Is my child too old?
You OR your child are never to old to learn this life saving skill.
Do you help kids with special needs?
Absolutely! We believe all children should learn this skill.
How long does it take for my child to swim?
This is a little more complicated of a question and has the standard "It Depends" because there are different levels of "swimming".
Children can learn to float relatively quickly. This is a basic first step to being safe around water. But is floating really swimming? And a 3 year old is typically physically developed enough to be able to free style but not butterfly (at least very well)
So make sure you have clear expectations and communicate that us so we can help meet your expectations.
What is your approach to teaching?
First and foremost we love the children. Swimming takes trust and children won't learn from us if they don't trust us. That trust comes from love.
After that we teach through play. If children don't want to come than they will not learn!
Do you teach ISR (Infant Safety Rescue)
NO, we do not. We do not believe the reward outweighs the cost associated with learning to swim this way.
Do I need to get in the water with my child?
This is not our goal. We want you to enjoy the water too! If your child will ONLY swim with you... are you really having fun? So our goal is to teach your child independently of you.
There are times and circumstances where we may ask you to get in the water as well. Our instructors will always do what is best for you and your children.
Do I have to stay during lessons?
Private lessons are only 20 minutes. We require that you stay on property.
If participation in another class does not require you to stay... we will let you know.
My child won't stop crying?
All of the instructors receive the same personal training from Nicole and are expected to meet the standards.
Choose the location that meets your requirements
What if I need to stop/change/cancel my class?
Please email us at [email protected] with your child's name and class time with the written request to drop.
Please do this at least 2 weeks before the end of the month.
Do you offer refunds?
No, we do not offer refunds. If your class is cancelled for any reason, you will a receive a credit for the upcoming month.
What if I miss a class?
Because we offer almost exclusively private lessons, we are paying our wonderful instructors whether you are in class or not. Because of that, please make every effort to attend your lessons.
If you cannot make your lesson, please utilize our "Lessons For Grab"
What if my child is sick?
Please see our sickness policy...
But in short, do not bring your contagious child to lessons.
Use our "Lessons For Grab"
What is your "Lessons For Grab"?
The "Lessons For Grab" program was created as a way for our existing families to swap or sell lessons that they knew they were going to miss. This allows them to offer a lesson that they have already paid for up to another family.
The "Lessons For Grab" is a great way for you to try out our swim school OR pick up additional lessons for practice.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are picking up a "Lessons For Grab" the listing family has already paid us for the lesson... Be a good person and make sure you pay them for any lesson you pick up.
